BroadwayCon And Their 10th Anniversary: A Celebration Of Theatrical Enthusiasm

This past weekend, from February 7th to 9th, BroadwayCon filled New York City with an electric energy as fans from all over the world gathered to celebrate the magic of musical theatre. Now in its tenth season, this iconic festival continues to impress with an array of engaging events and stellar talent, all orchestrated by the beloved Broadway icon Anthony Rapp.

As a passionate theatre enthusiast, attending BroadwayCon each year has been a plan, and this year did not disappoint. The schedule was packed with inspiring classes and seminars led by renowned Broadway creators and performers, covering a wide range of topics from the ins and outs of stage production to the nuance of musical performance. The festival fostered an inclusive atmosphere, catering to the varying interests of attendees—whether they were curious beginners or seasoned theatre aficionados.

A highlight of my experience was leading my own improv seminar titled “Improv: A Brief History and How to Produce a Show in Your Home.” I was thrilled to see thirty eager participants sign up, all ready to dive into the world of improvisational theatre. Together, we engaged in a series of fun and interactive games that not only honed our improvised performance skills but also created a sense of camaraderie among attendees.

Special thanks are due to the talented NYC performers Josh Dudley and David Malinsky, whose contributions elevated our seminar. Their expertise and infectious enthusiasm enriched our discussions and performances, creating an environment that was both educational and entertaining. It was rewarding to witness the growth of each participant as the seminar progressed, giving them the confidence to step outside their comfort zones and embrace the spontaneity of improvisation.

Beyond my own seminar, BroadwayCon offered countless opportunities for fans to connect and celebrate their passion for theatre. Enthusiastic singalongs filled the hallways, and makeup classes transformed fans into their favorite characters. The improv workshops allowed participants to experience the thrill of theatre firsthand, while podcasts provided insights from industry veterans on the existing pulse of Broadway.

In conclusion, my experience at BroadwayCon 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary. From the breath-taking performances to the collaborative spirit of the workshops, the event embodied the very essence of what makes Broadway special—community, creativity, and a shared love for the stage. As the festival continues to grow, I can’t help but feel excited for what the future holds in store for BroadwayCon and all its devoted fans. Here’s to many more seasons of theatrical productions.
